It started with a hotel room in Lisbon that I couldn’t stop thinking about. Chalky pink walls, a headboard that looked hand-tufted, a single stone lamp on a bedside table the colour of tea. I took maybe forty photographs of it before I left and I’ve spent the years since quietly trying to put versions of that room back together at home.

I’m not a designer. I studied art history, spent a decade in publishing, and now I write mostly for pleasure. This diary is where I keep every room I’ve fallen for and every piece I found that felt close enough to build one like it. Beds, chairs, side tables, lamps, the odd rug.
